She was born and raised in Berlin-Prenzlauer Berg. As a child, she received music lessons in soprano and alto flute and later switched to the alto saxophone. In the early 1990s, Julia began her tap dance training. She trained at „Die Etage,“ the „Ballett Centrum & Musicalschule Kurfürstendamm Karree,“ and at TapaToe, where she soon began teaching herself. During her time in Paris, she danced under the direction of Leela Petronio at „Le Centre des Arts Vivants.“

Julia regularly enhances her skills in workshops with various international tap dance luminaries such as Brenda Bufalino (NY), Sam Weber (SF), Barbara Duffy (NY), Michelle Dorrance (NY), Derrick K. Grant (NY), Guillem Alonso (BC), Michael Sandwick (NY), Victor Cuno (Paris), and many others.

Julia was a member of the company „Chili con Tap“ and the duo „Call a Tap.“ She has participated in various solo, duo, and company projects as a tap dancer. However, her passion and priority have always been teaching American tap dance. She is an excellent educator with a solid technique and, due to her musical training, a keen sense of musicality and rhythm.
